THIS WEEK IN TECH MEMES

getting an offer from a seed-stage startup be like 👀
ASK THE EXPERT
🎯 Guest Expert: Sarah Chen, Tech Career Director at Columbia University, shares:
"In NYC's current market, companies expect negotiation"
"Recent success: Candidate secured 15% more by highlighting their AI experience"
"Always negotiate the full package, not just base salary"
Our advice? Get creative with your points of leverage, it’s not always solely about more money. Explore other perks that would meaningful to your quality of life, like working 1 day per week remotely, or a gym stipend. We’ve even seen remote startups offer DoorDash credits every day for lunch. Get creative once it’s clear you’ve hit the presumed salary cap. Negotiations are much more flexible with early-stage companies than at big tech– so get creative.
